brakes 200 1989

Don't know what overcame me but I decided I needed to fix the handbrake(I never use it)The LR caliper needed replaced and in bleeding system one of the LF caliper bleed screws broke so I now have new calipers on the left side. After bleeding 4X still had a pedal the went slowly to the floor. Master Cylinder I thought...replaced that and still was unable to get a hard, stable pedal. No leaks, no fluid in booster. What don't I understand about what is going on?

Bad LF Rebuilt Caliper? 200 1989

Your new rebuilt LF caliper may have been assembled wrong. We've seen several cases where the OUTER half belongs on the other side of the car. It will look OK and fit perfectly if put on upside down. But it will be impossible to bleed the air from the lower-outer cylinder.

Look at the top of the LF caliper, at the line where the inner and outer halves meet. If you see a "dimple" (punch mark) next to the joint line on the outer half — it's wrong.

The factory puts punch marks on the bottom of each half, so they can be matched correctly when rebuilding. But sometimes the rebuilders aren't careful enough to check for the matching marks.

    I'm a bit confused.
Fixing the Handbrake:..this has nothing to do with Caliper replacement and bleeding

If you broke off the Bleeder in the Front, How were you able to Bleed system, especially after then replacing the Master Cylinder?

New Master: must Bench bleed it before hooking up brakelines.

After replacing rear and front Calipers, The system has to be bleed in this order. Passenger Rear, Drivers rear, Front Passenger, Front drivers.

Went Slowly to the floor. you mean you put pressure on it and it sank OR it is so soft it goes to the floor?

A slow sinking , with no leaks means a bad MASTER.
Soory for asking but you do know how to Bleed brakes? Either put hose into a jar of Fluid or pump up, have someone crack the Bleeder loose, pedal falls to teh floor, tighten bleeder and repeat.
