1972 B20F Oil pan oddity 140-160

I was dismantling what I believe was the original engine from a '72 144E.
I thought it peculiar that the oil pan had the bung on the side for an oil temperature sender like an 1800.
I don't remember seeing that on other B20Bs and have no idea if the pan was changed by a previous owner.
So was this standard equipment on the injected engines?
This is no big deal, I was just curious.
Off to the scrapyard it goes!

You're scrapping the pan? I need exactly that bung, just the outer part and seal washer behind it. It unscrews...

Please let me know if those are available.

Hi Phil,

No, just junking the block and internals. Hate to do it, but just don't have the room to keep this stuff anymore.

Yes, I've got what you are looking for.
I'll send an e-mail tonight w/ photos & details.

Phil if that doesn't work out for you I have a hole pan you can have with the bung in it. Or you could have a spare. Let me know.

Marc
