Will a driveshaft from a '93 245 fit onto a '89 244? 200 1989

U-joints squeaking on an '89 sedan....I have to make a quick turnaround for college student ....thinking of swapping my '93 driveshaft over to the sedan and sending the young one back to school.... I can change out the U-joints on the '89 shaft during the week.

Will the '93 wagon's driveshaft fit directly onto the '89 sedan? Will there be vibration issues???

Probably easier to just replace the U-joints on the '89 shaft...but don't know how long it will take....and don't know which one of the U-joints is the problem...tempted to replace all U-joints...all depends on time.

    Will a driveshaft from a '93 245 fit onto a '89 244? 200 1989

If they are both autos or both manuals, it might work. That being said, I tried using an 89 244 driveshaft assembly in a 90 244 (both auto), and the pinion flange would not fit the rear end. Solution was to knock out the rear U-joint and swap flanges... yes, new rear U-joint. The issue was with the OD of the round protrusion on the rear driveshaft flange that "plugs into" the pinion flange on the rear end... that problem was caused by the "protrusion" on the rear flange being too large in diameter.
