My '88 240 has a serious knocking coming from the head in the area closest to the firewall. I know these cars are notorious for sounding like diesels but this is beyond that. Could it be the lifters, a rod, loose valve? The car doesn't use oil or overheat. Could it be a knock sensor? Thanks in advance.
