Sluggish acceleration 700 1986

I have a 7670 Turbo which is only used infrequently. It starts fine even after two months of no use but has sluggish acceleration from idle to about 2500 after which it seems normal. It runs fine on the freeway at the higher rpms. Could it be a vacumm leak or fpr?

Define sluggish. These cars don't have the best low end pick up. If you had a boost leak the car would most likely run rich, black smoke out the tailpipe on hard accelerations and the problem would be all the time. It's an old car, if you are really worried about it start with the easy things, give the car a nice tune up.

how long since you changed the fuel filter???After having 2 1989 volvos refuse to start after changing the fuel filter ,I will never go more than 10,000 miles between changes.Any more is asking for trouble. This setup is a disaster.the filter should always be before the pump instead of after.

      Hi Rasputin,
I replaced the filter in time about 5 years ago and in mileage about 2000 ago. As you see the car doesn't get much use. Thanks.
