Coolant Level Sensor S90-V90

Hey guys,

Flushed the coolant today, and I took the overflow reservoir out to clean all the goo out. Well I pulled the sensor out of the bottom of the tank, and when I was done cleaning pushed it back in.. Well now once I refilled the coolant. Let it idle a long time to suck up with the cap open, I realized my coolant level light is on. The coolant level is fine.. How does this switch work anyways. It dosent get in contact with coolant, and it has a little glass piece with 2 contacts, that I guess touch each other somehow. Any input??

Thanks,

As I remember there is a floating piece inside the tube with an embedded magnet that activates a reed switch. I had the same problem that was solved by removing it and doing a lot of flushing, shaking and rinsing.

Hello,

I still can't get the warning light to go off. If I take the coolant level switch out of the tank it goes out. As soon as I put it in the light is back on.. The switch looks like a small cylindrical piece of glass with contacts inside. This is covered by a cylindrical piece of black plastic. All of this worked perfect before I took the switch out when I was doing a flush.
