I took a part my 86 odometer and saw the gear that was broken. I have a spare odometer from an 84 but the two look to be designed different. I checked the odometer gear website and they show the one white gear as working for all 200 series. Is this really true or are they just for the 85-90's? Can I get a gear out of the older odometer to fix the newer?

    Suggest that you get a new gear, the new ones are tough. i did the pick ur parts gear thing Then a couple of miles later that one broke also.

    So do it one time with a new gear and you should be done with it. Got mine from the odometer website guy for 25 USD.

      Agree with PLT. The gear material is faulty. I see a lot of 240s at the junk yard with trip odometers at 0. I assume this means that the odo has broken. The new one from Odogears wikk last forever.
