96 965 control arm bushing replacement problem S90-V90

Guys, got all of the bolts loose and the nut off of the ball joint, but after 20 or so hits w/a block of wood and 1lb hammer, the control arm won't release from ball joint. What gives? Need more force? Will penetrating oil help? Is this tappered and thus the issue? Thanks in advance.

If you head out to your local Autozone, Advanced Autoparts, they have a tool loan program. You pay for the tool upfront and they refund you upon returning the tool.

    Good Luck!

A good tie rod end separator:

If you plan of saving the tie rod ends, you need one of these. Use of the "pickle fork" always ruins the tie rod ends.
