Without the lights on the turn signals work perfectly, as do the flashers. Can't safely drive the car at night.

Any ideas where to start?

I had the same problem a year ago and one of the tail light bulbs had gotten hot enough to have the two connect points join. As a result a short was created.

My 960 did this, and a lot of other things, right after I got it. Some nitwit had put the wrong bulb in the left front turn lamp and it freaked the entire blinker system out. Check to make sure you have 1156's where they go and 1157's where they go and ne'er the twain shall be crossed up or things get seriously weird.

Cost me $100 at the local euro shop, but I'm glad to have lights/blinkers at nights. Thanks for the "dead-on" recommendations.

I had oddly operating blinkers/hazards. After I replace the cracked tail light (and put fresh bulbs in all tail light sockets) everything sorted itself out.

I changed out the hazzard unit. The relay for the turn signals in incorporated in the same unit. Fixed my turn signal problem.
