More seatbelt woes...... 120-130

Hi Folks,

Still trying to fit rear belts in my '66 122s.

Have the belts in apart for the shoulder fixing that hides behind the headliner on the rear quarter. Its not 7/16 fitting..., its smaller.....and....there are 2 of them about an inch apart......(thought I'd cracked it when I found the second one :(

nglassen221, Not been able to track down the 3\8 UNC you suggested, everything is metric here in UK, my local supplier has had no imperial stuff for years !

Anyone got any idea what size it could be or what I could use to get my final fixing.

Thanks!

Gerry

Just a straight 3/8" UNC bolt is not really what you want anyhow. You want a proper seat belt shoulder bolt with the thin head and all. I'd either try and find original Volvo seat belt bolts (ebay or car wreckers), or get chummy with your local model engineers society and talk someone into machining the right thread on the bolts you have.

      Thanks for the replies folks....!

I ended up recutting the thread to metric. Used regular HT bolts and seperate, shouldered spacers.

The strap is not running too smoothly thro the original parcel shelf opening so I'm going to rethink the alignment......or revert to static belts.

      Thanks
      Gerry

That's nonsense, UNC is readily available, someone like Namrick will do it mail order, but most local fastner suppliers wuill have them http://www.namrick.co.uk/browse.asp?PCID=6

What I meant was that none of my local suppliers carry imperial stock....Believe me, I've tried, (I'm in Glasgow). I've used Namrick in the past
