Thermostat housing aftermarket/OEM? 700 1990

There is a slow leak both at the top of the T-housing where the top rad hose joins the the T-housing and around the connection with the engine block leaving white residue at both places and I can smell it.Leak is only maybe half a litre per half a year,I want to fix it and instead scrubbing and sanding pitted and residue laden t-housing get a new one.
eeuropart sells an aftermarket one for 12.90
Fcpgroton sells an "oem" one for 18.00.
Is Scantech considered oem? What would you get for the oem?
thanks for sharing experience

BTW 5 yrs ago the bolt were broken too.Took me some persistence with a vice grip/and penetrating oil to free it and bolts replaced.

Calorstat/Vernet is OEM which is what FCP sent me last I replaced one. I have had much better luck with the Vernet than the Wahler ones.

Scan Tech is not OEM on anything. OE is just that, "Original Equipment". That means it is Volvo stuff in a Volvo box. OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer, this is like buying a set of Boge bushings that have the "Volvo" and the part number ground off of them. On something as odd as a T/stat housing I could not tell you who the OE manufacturer is for that but being as it is just a cast aluminum housing I would be willing to consider an aftermarket part in this application but seeing as how it is $13.00 or $18.00 I would probably spend the extra if I could get the factory stuff.

used eeuropart aftermarket part, slightly bigger than original at thermostat junction but no leak what so ever.Satisfied with quality. The previously replaced French(Calor?) thermostat gasket has melted.Never happened be4 with Wahler or Volvo stat.Put in new Wahler and gasket.
Next time will stick with Wahler.
