93 960 Climent Control 900 1993

I have a 93 960 that i paid $1 for (long story short, it had over heated after having blown a hose and i was told it kept over heating after that and the people were told they needed a new engine, almost 5000 miles later i haven't really had any issues with it and have been doing work on it like changing the timing belt).

Anyway i think i need to replace the vacuum servo or i have a vacuum leak and i am wondering if i do indeed need the servo, if anyone knows where i can get it and how much it might cost me? A mechanic told me it's probably not the servo as those usually don't go bad. Can anyone help me with this?

One other unrelated question is this car has a moonroof in it (sun roof with glass) which from what i can tell is not a factory option and might be a 3rd party thing. The thing is it now has some play in it and it doesn't want to close with out me holding down this little wind deflector that pops up when you open it. Anyone have any insight on this?

I'd say your mechanic doesn't work on 900 series volvo's to often.

Yes the bellows fail, very, very common. There is a couple of approaches by those who post on the board. I for one, before being educated by this web site, took out the dashboard to get to it. In the FAQ there is a short cut described, many have used it with success. Then there are also many who simply by-pass that valve by plugging up the vacuum line, limits your vent selection but works, costs nothing and can be done in minutes. For that do a search.

Thank you for the info, i figured that might be the case.

Yea that was the other person's mecanic and i agree with you. It does loose some coolant (i have to add about a quart ever 1000-2000 miles) but i think the waterpump is at fault.

Where can i get this part? Is that going to be a dealer thing?
