The grease for the actual motor is in need of replacement. Motor, gears and mast are all good. Unit just needs grease and am wondering what type is used. The FAQ does not mention this item.

    Do you really mean 'motor'? - I've never been inside one-they look really well sealed up. But I have found the plastic gears and sprocket that reels the toothed nylon trip in-out to operate the antenna, badly gummed up with thickened, ancient grease. I clean this out with mineral spirits (paint thinner) and regrease everything in there with Vaseline. That plus regular wipedowns of the mast with WD40 keeps things happy.

      Gear area is what I mean. Happy to hear it is vaseline as I have used that on O rings for years---Volvo recommended. Have to keep the old 200K girl going.
