Auto-Rx question 200 1993

Just getting through running my 2nd cycle of Auto Rx through my 240. I have used dino oil as directed. My question is why do they say to use only dino oil afterwards and not to use synthetic oil?

During the rinse stage you should use dino oil. In some cases running dino the next oil change after the rinse phase is sometimes helpful. In other words two oil changes with dino oil. After the Auto-Rx cleaning and rinse cycles you can run synthetic.

Auto-Rx question 200 1993

What effects did you see.How clean does , say oil fill hole appears from inside. I have minor rear seal leak and have got one bottle . I will see how it goes with one bottle. I plan to run 2nd run with remaining 4 ounce.
As steve has pointed out you will see tons of info on http://www.bobistheoilguy.com

They say use Castrol GTX for rinse phase . I had asked if Mobil 5000 will work to which the forum replied yes for actual run but not that good for rinse.

Auto-Rx question 200 1993

The first rinse was amazing, the stuff after 1K was nasty. I am on the second rinse now. I also had a very minor rear seal drip as well that I hope this helps. I will report the results later.

Auto-Rx question 200 1993

If you had a leaker might want to run the 3 oz maintnence dose for a handful of more oil changes on dino oil. I had one 740 16v that was gushing out the rear main, did the two treatrments and took care of most of it, ran the 3 oz maintnence dose for about 3 more changes and no more leak. Most of the vehicles I've done with minor leaks have been cured with the 2 treatments.

It has something to do with the molecular polarity of the oil and its ability to clean up remaining junk. Try www.bobistheoilguy.com and ask this question. The stuff does work, though.
