dodgy start up 200 1975

Hi, my 244dl 2.1 injection engine starts roughly. It cranks over well, fires and then splutters and would die unless I pressed the accelerator to keep it going. It's fine after about a minute or two. I asked the service shop to look at the cold-start injectors and they said they were fine. Does anyone know why the car runs rough like this? I really want the 75 to run well. Thanks in advance from AUSTRALIA

ANSWER dodgy start up 200 1975

I would ask them to check the control pressure cold. Warm up dodginess problems are mostly divided between deposits clogging the control pressure regulator (CPR) and sluggish sticky auxiliary air valve (AAV) or air slide. A pressure test will rule out the more expensive (CPR) of the two.

Post an update when you figure it out please, I have been battling this for over a year now. Funny thing is that it was fine and then all of a sudden one day it started having problems. Go figure.
