identifying nivomat 900 1995

Hi,

I recently purchased a 1995 960 wagon. I am trying to identify the rear shocks. he car has a IRS multi link suspension. The FCP groton site says to check a production information plate to confirm which nivomat to order. I can only locate the plate on the raditator cross member. Does anyone know where the other plate is which is supposed to be in the engine compartment?

    Bump

I don't think you guys are reading Mparis' question...

Whether or not they are Nivomats is not the question. He is asking which of two possible types of Nivos to order. I checked FCPG's webside and this is indeed the case.

The site makes reference to a data plate in the right front of the engine compartment. I just ran out and checked, but since I have a non-nivo car the plate is also absent.

Maybe someone with Nivomats can take a look for you, Mparis...

Take a look under the rear suspension. Nivomats have a long rubber bellows around the lower half the shock absorber, regular shocks don't. Nivos are also a bit thicker.

Regular shock absorber on the left, Nivomat on the right.

One of these days I will have to figure out how to post pictures like that. It sure beats writing a few paragraphs. Pauli
