When driving saturday night, shortly after i started moving (say 300 yards) All of the warning lights flashed for approximately .5 sec when I hit the brakes. there have been no other symptoms of any underlying problems. have any of you encountered this before?

    check the wires at the back of the alternator, if they're stripped off of the insulation, then wrap the electrical tape around them. If they're naked and touch the alternator body or engine block, you'll see what you've seen.
