Window question part 2 200

Will a 1991 driver's side window fit a 1984 car?

The 91 window binds at the front, by the mirror.

Thank you

    Window question part 2 200

Yes, it should be exactly the same and should fit fine. If I were you I'd try to locate a 91 and up replacement window as the tinting is different, so if you use the older window it won't be as dark as the rest of the car and may look odd. Of course, it's fine if you don't care about that.

    Window question part 2 200

First of all is the 84 a 2 door or 4 door? Ok, silly question but you never know. I know that the mirror design was a little different in the 84 as oppoised to the 91, but not sure if that will interfer withthe glass. My 83 looks the same as my 89 and my 93. Maybe someone will have an answer from experience but to me they look the same. I have sprayed silicon in the track to keep from binding in the 89. Good Luck..Max

      Window question part 2 200

Why yes, both are 4 doors. Silly question I guess.

After I chilled out, I adjusted the regulator somewhat, via the four bolts that hold it to the door. Better, still a little sticky.

The mirror was only used as a point of reference.

I also studied my 89, seems the same.

      What kind of silicone?

This is my 18 year old son's car, if it can be broken he will do it.

        Window question part 2 200

I run a glass shop. My glass software says same glass for front doors 1974-93 and rear doors 1967-93. Might make sure your window regulator is operating smoothly, if you can't identify exactly where it's hanging up, it could be that the regulator is binding up.

        Window question part 2 200

I actually used Ace Hardware Silicone spray lubricant. It seemed to be better than oil and less messy. Use a little spray tube that comes most carb or brake cleaners. I sprayed both front and rear of the window track. The wife's 93 has to be done regulary' as the previous owner really screwed up the seal around the window. What a mess...Try doing all the windows, you might be amazed as to how easy the SLOW electric windows will roll up afterwards.. Max
