After trying to find old articles about Volvo P1800s, with very little success in U.S. magazines. I was pleasently surprised when I received my most recent copy of Hemmings Sports and Exotic car magazine (May issue). It almost seems dedicated to the P1800. First there is a brief article from one of the editors about replacing his brakes with stainless steel brake lines on his recently purchased P1800s. Next there is a 3-5 page article about the P1800s and it is just part 1 of the article and next I found a little article about the new Revell P1800 car model. Anyways, if you haven't seen the magazine, it might be worth getting.

    I have an original copy of March 1972 Road & Track, in which they test 1800ES, Lotus Elan Sprint, and Capri V6. Found it on eBay, so check there for more.

    The Capri was priced at $2780, the Lotus at $5593, and the 1800ES at $5340.

    Road&Track had several articles throughout 1800 production. They were compiled along with a lot of other Volvo stuff into two volumes, called something like "R&T on Volvo" or some such. I don't know if those books are still in print or not -- I think IPD used to list them in their catalogs, but I haven't noticed them lately.
