Hey guys,

Well, my rear doors wont open. They used to when I got the car, but last week they stopped. When I unlock them with the switch the lock handle moves half way and stops, you cannot open it from the inside or outside. If I try to open the lock manually same thing.

Anyone else have this?

    One of mine was stuck when I got the car, and it turned out that 1) the child safety lock was engaged and 2) there's a white connector piece on the inside of the door that links the outer handle to the rest of the latch mechanism which broke. The door now opens from the inside once I got the door apart and opened it but the handle on the outside doesn't work. The white piece can be found on the handle from any 700/900/90 series car and swapped in if broken.

    You may just need to lube the lock assembly. The door panel can be removed with the door still shut... Take out the rear seat bottom first (there are some clips underneath the front edge) and you'll have access to the clips under the door panel. Then remove the two screws near the handle area on the panel, and snap off the panel. You should be able to feel around and lube the rod assembly. Let me know if these instructions aren't too clear; it's late and my mind is a little shot right now.

      What is the child safety lock? How do you enable it/disable it? Both of my doors in the rear do the same thing, when you try to unlock the plastic part moves a bit but not fully out (the thing you would unlock with from the inside)

        Hello, Try to lock, unlock and move the lock button as you hit the remote. If this will not work. Rear seat bottom needs to come out and door panel removed. You must have a build-up of crud on both your door latches, I usually only see that from the salt belt cars. Pauli

          I took it all apart Sunday, there was a white plastic piece on the line that connects the inside latch to the unit, it broke. I took it off and it worked from just the outside, the drivers side was ok there but it still didn't work. Its like it dosent have enough pull to pop the latch open, I need to take it all apart again and see whats going on, possible take the latch assembly from inside the door out.
