Brembo rotors have their p/n stamped on the outer edge of the rotor:
For 240 fronts, it's VO905 -- this is what I use, and I have Girling calipers.
And, BTW, for 240 rears, it's VO906 -- I use these with my ATE rear calipers.
So if you have Girlings in front (99.9999% of us do), as long as your rotor says VO906, it's correct!
I would have thought that there's no difference in rotors between ATE and Girling front calipers. But maybe there is a difference anyway (based on the next paragraph). I don't know why, but I could speculate, e.g., different dimensions of the mounts, and therefore the rotor is more outboard or inboard? I don't know why.
But get this! Looking at my copy of the Volvo Quick Reference Parts Catalog (a publication by Volvo for their dealerships' Parts Counter guys) dated April 1990, on page 91 it shows this:
For 240 Front Rotors, 1975-on, there are two different ventilated rotor part numbers for Girling calipers and for ATE calipers (along with a third rotor, a solid one for Girling).
Girling front caliper, ventilated rotor: 270739-6
ATE front caliper, ventilated rotor: 270738-8
So if there is no difference, why are there two different ventilated rotors, one for each different caliper? I don't know -- I'm only reporting what the Volvo parts catalog shows!
