Chicago area 1800 for sale 1800

Just FYI, there is a 1967 P1800 for sale on Craigslist/Chicago. The owner wants $9900. I do not know anything about it and I do not know the owner, but it sounds like a nice car. In the Chicago area you don't see to many 1800s. I'm very new to Volvo 1800s and mine needs work, so I'm not sure if the price is good or not. Just passing alone the info.

The best 1800ES I have ever seen sold for $4250 for export back to Sweden.
(That was on ebay so it was available to everyone - it was nearby so I got a
    GOOD look at it.)

Therefore I conclude that the more primitive (for lack of a better word)
    67 1800 is substantially overpriced.

George, I've never seen a non-rusty 1800 sell for $4250. Usually double that. And a couple of very nice ones on Ebay over the past few years have sold for substancially more than that...

Whether it's overpriced or not is debatable, but if it's a clean, rust free car that needs minimal work, then $9000 is a reasonable asking price. Plus, there are those 1800 fans out there (not me) who would rather have a carburated car.

I was wondering about that price. I have seen several 1800 priced higher, but most are priced much lower. As I mentioned, I'm very new to the Volvo scene and mine cost much less, but will need some TLC to make it a good looking 10 footer. I just plan on making mine a dependable(as dependable as a 40 year old car can be)summer driver. I have to say though, I'm very surprised that the prices of these cars haven't appreciated as well as other foreign cars. I also own 2 Triumph TR3s and a Spitfire and they have all appreciated at a fair rate. I suppose with time, the 1800s will go up also.
