what are the exact symtoms of bad j-joints? i have a 1990 m47II with the front guibo. i am having some vibration on accelleration and decell. but u-joints are a pain in the butt and i wanna make sure its them..

Second thought.. The M47 has a rep of the bearings going out on them especially if you abuse them as I do. Mine made a noise on accel and decel but I was able to tell it was coming from the tranny. Also check your center, or carrier, bearing. ..MAx:>)

You already have the symptoms.
Grab the prop,and give it a twist.
You will hear/see the loose one{s},
Probably the one by the engine.
The bad/good news is you might want to change them all.
Make chalk marks to ensure alignment going back together.
