Does anyone know if the glass moonroof from an 850 will fit a 740? I ran across an 850 wreck in my town with the moonroof intact and toyed with the idea of a posible swapout. I checked the old forum posts and found info on 960 and 780 swaps, but no 850's.

    I can't answer your question about the 850 fit but my son and I just did a repair on a 740 sunroof and it works flawlessly. Are you having problems with your 740 roof? If so, they are easy to repair. It was a little imtimidating to tear it down and regrease, adjust and put back together but worth it. We took the motor out of a 740 and installed a manual crank. Hope this helps, my opinion is to keep what you have and fix it with 740 parts if it's broken. Good luck

      Thanks for your response- my sunroof has a couple of issues, but nothing unsurmountable- I was wondering about the 850 sunroof because it was available, that's all!

      An 850 sunroof will not fit a 740. Only a 960 glass sunfroof will fit. That is why conversions are rare. Did 780's come with glass sunroofs? If so I am sure those would work as well.

        Thanks for the response- it was just an idle question of mines since I saw a junker 850 with a good sunroof; I already knew the 960 ones would fit. Thanks a lot!
