changing back to dino from synthetic

Hello

My recently aquired 1990 240 has had synthetic oil all it's life
I want to go back to dino because I don't drive alot and change oil and filter every 3 k or so.
Will there be any fallout from the switch?
has anyone else tried this?

Thanks

Well, your engine might not last as long...

I think not driving a lot is a good excuse to stick with synthetic. There really isn't any compelling reason to change the oil every 3K mi either given the state of modern dino oils-- the recommended 5K mi interval is fine. If the car isn't leaking or burning oil, why not stick with synthetic and change the oil twice a year?

Here in Toronto we see the extremes of weather-- from -25C to +35C. Synthetic oil is great for those extremes.

Good luck!
