Hello,
The standard Shiftlock release button on the shifter won't let go on my 96 960(V90). The mechanical ShitLock Release button at the bottom of the indicator panel works and releases the shifter. Has this happened to anyone/ Is it a bad relay or a bad switch at the brake pedal?

I have the same problem in cold weather.
Trusted mechanic says it is the ignition switch contact assembly.
Wiggling the key has helped.
Best cure is warm the car up for 5 minutes, then all is well.
But that is just my car.
I may get it fixed one of these days.

Hello, 19 times out of twenty it is the micro switch. About 1 to 1 1/2 hours to replace by yourself. Pauli

Oddly enough, mine is the exact opposite. the button on my shifter has never worked.
