auto (aw70) to manual tranny (m46) conversion 200 1982

hi there fellow bricksters:
The car, a 1982 2 door with auto tranny. I'm just soliciting opinions if doing the conversion is even worth the sweat equity. What's involved in the conversion besides the clutch pedal, cable and linkages? Electricals for the overdrive? Speedo stuff? Drive shaft? Thanks in advance for each and every input from you all brickboard users out there.
Denny

Consider a T5 swap, given the level of effort involved and the perennial overdrive maintenance issues. Check out http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=3620

Worth it to me because I don't like autos. You need pedals, clutch cable, shifter, overdrive wiring harnesss, flywheel, clutch, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, tranny crossmember, gearbox with spedometer drive, and a driveshaft.

The only complication i ran into was that the hole for the clutch cable was not drilled in the firewall. It was hard to locate and dril this hole with all of the stuff in the way. I would also recommend overhauling the overdrive while you have the gearbox on the floor. I took a gamble and put an unknown gearbox in my car, only to find out it had no overdrive. After a rebuild it works great but it would have been easier to do it before it was installed.

Thanks for the input, guys. Wow! Choices. That T5 stuff sounds really good. Might be worth saving some $$$ for. Thanks again.
