Out of curiousity, does anyone else have this rubber trim in place along the wheel arch of their 740? Only one of wheel arch has this. Don't know what has happened to the others. What purpose does it serve?

Dust seal for the fender skirt 700 1989

The fender skirts were a very rarely found dealer-installed option.

what the heck?....I had that same trim on both fronts of my turbo wagon when i bought it a couple of weeks ago...I"ve since ripped them off, but what the hell were they in the first place...cool to see that you had them too..i thought some screwball was just trying to be cute over the years, although that may still be the case in both of our situations.
