iPd Cherry Turbo 240 strut brace 200

IPD has a 15% off everything! Maybe I should take advantage of it and get a strut brace. Anyone have opinions on this particular brace? I've been thinking about it off and on, but can't decide on one--or on price. But now with this sale, maybe the CT barce is a deal? I understand it's made of steel, is it heavy? Does it do what a strut brace is supposed to do? I know it's not the most aesthetic design, so maybe it does work?

hi all
i added the cherry brace after the HD bils and lowering springs and it is a noticeable improvment, really brings out the usefulness of the HD bils.
i also have the strut to firewall braces and they brought out all the dash rattles that were hidden and i did notice a little improvement.
i have seen other strut to strut braces that look better but also read there is too much bend/play in them?

They're the best as far as strength goes, the ladder design does a great job of keeping everything in place.

I have an IPD one on the '88 and Herman up at CT fabricated one to fit under the flathood on my old 244Ti. I wouldn't run any other style of brace.

I don't like the design, I think a heavier bar across the center, with the stock GT braces to the firewall would create a stronger, and more aesthetic design. BUT, realize, I haven't tested any of them, IPD has a reputation for being at the head of Volvo upgrades, and at 15% off, it's a good time to buy one.

I say go for it. It looks like a good brace, but it's not at all what I'd choose to do.
