engine swap 200

I need help ! I've got a 78 262C Bertone that I am having the engine ( boat anchor V6 ) replaced with the rebuilt unit from my 86 240 DL. Does anyone out there have similar experience with wiring changes that they would like you share with my mechanic ?
His name is Jeff and his e-mail adress is ( theslacker45@yahoo.com ) We would like to get this project moving forward A.S.A.P.

Floyd:

You need to take the entire engine and engine harness from your 86 (if the harness isn't rotten). You also need to take the LH2.x fuel and ignition modules from under the passenger side of the dash.

I say the above from having read similar posts, but I have not personally done the job. I'm sure there are nuances and details that other BB members can fill in the gaps with.

I don't know about this particular swap but from my experience in doing a diesel to an '83 B23 swap I know I had to swap the cars inside harness from the fusebox out to where the engine harness plugs in. There were enough differences that it was easier than trying to sort out the different individual wires out of the original harness. I'd imagine that you'd have to do this too. BTW, if you end up having to do this then it's an ideal time to pull out the complete heater box unit and replce the heater core, blower motor, resistor, and heater control valve. It's alot easier on the bench than doing this in the car later on. Good Luck!
