brake question 444-544

Hey to all, I just recently orderd original volvo brake pads for disc brake conversion on 63 pv 544. I`m not sure if maybe I should post this in the 120 forum or not, if so let me know. Other wise sorry. The brake pads I recieved are WOKING brand, you know that famous brand. Well gotta tell yas I`ve never heard of this brand. I also recieved brake disc that are 1.5 millimeters taller than original(standing up side by side). Question, is there enough room for the disc to clear the caliper? My calipers are not mounted yet. I just wanted to know if anyone has run across any of this before. I know belinda had to remove some material from the caliper to make this work but I don`t know how much larger the dia. of her disc was. If i`m not mistaken the disc I bought probably came from skandix but i`m not sure. The part # for the disc is ""NK""20 40 01 43531 The brand is NK.
Thanks for any help ledfoot

Taller should not be a problem as there is about 1/2" clearance between the OD of the disks and the calipers. Now, if they are thicker by 1.5 mm, you would have to grind off the "faces" of your calipers by this much to get them to clear.

brake question 444-544

Thanks belinda, The rotors seem to fit but I am wondering if the rotors you recieved from skandix are the same as the ones I bought, they came in a black box with the letters in red that said ""NK"". Can you remember how much they cost. I paid $219.00 For the set with studs. They will have to be turned, not sure if that is normal procedure. They are 15mm. thick .If the brand you have are the same or if anyone else has tried these please let me know what you think as I am concerned after finding out that I could possibly have bought them cheaper thanks ledfoot

That is a good price for new rotors. With studs, an even better deal. Olof is selling them with hubs for about double that, if I remember right. The studs are extra at ~$6 each if I remember right.

I know I also saw some 1800 disc rotors awhile back - I think it was on ebay - and they were $207 for one disc w/ a hub; or $230 for a pair of discs w/out hubs. I don't think it was Scandix. The p/n for these rotors was 666525.

I took some photos of the boxes mine came inadvertendly (see below). Does this box look familiar? I don't remember if it said NK on it or if there was red lettering on the box... 15 mm does sound familiar for the thickness.

"Yes" these are the same. Did you need to shave the rotors to true them? And have you had any warpage problems? Also did you use organic pads? All of this information really would ease my mind. I orderd pbr pads from IPD. They are a good place to do buisness with along with good knowledge. I have met some great people to do buisness with. Picked up some really good front fenders for the old girl the other day, like brand new. I believe I have three front sets and two sets are perfect. After I get thru with this car I should have plenty of parts left over. I have a good rebuilt B20 with fuel inj. head mod. with about 15,000 mi. on it. But I think I`m gonna try b230ft with about 90,000 mi.
Any who thanks for the help from everyone. Please post back. Plus any good ideas are more than welcome. ledfoot
