heat shields 700 1990

Just curious as to anyone having a problem with underside heat shield. I started to hear a tapping sound under the rear passenger floor (while driving) and notice that a flat metal cover over the exhaust was loose. Did any of you guys ever witness this? If so, is it welded or have screws??

    My 95 944T heat shields came loose as the screw heads torn through the flimsy shield. I pulled the screws and added SS washers, re-installed the screws and they've stayed in place with no problems ever since.
