Carbureted B21F (NOT B20!) cable/linkage rigging 200 1980

I KNEW there was something about that previous post that didn't look
right! I so rarely post about B21s that I can hardly type the number!
Following is what I MEANT to say:

I have placed an SU HS6 Carburetor on a Canadian manifold on Susan's
245 with B21F engine. I've got the linkage from the drum to the carb
arm (which I had to fabricate) and it seems to work OK, but I am having
trouble figuring out how the throttle cable is retained and attached
to the drum. I have never seen such a setup and only have the original
throttle cable and another one like it. Can anyone post a pic of the
B21A throttle cable/linkage so I can see how it fits together?
We are trying to get this car out of here - want it operational so we
can sell it.
Many thanks for any help you can give in this!

      Many thanks, Dave.
Good pic and now I understand why I couldn't get the 16" cable to reach
      anything where it would work!

I saw your B20 post first. Anyhow the Haynes manual has a diagram that I can scan and email if you like. Don't have a digital camera so can't post a pic of my setup. However, Sstef may (has a website caunter.ca that wasn't responding when I just checked).

    George,
I know this isn't what you asked for, but it's the best I can come up with. Have a look at this while you wait for someone with a set-up like yours (Trev?). The pictures show the original Solex carb on my B230K.

So your throttle is on the front of the carb?
Mine's on the back, and it is a sidedraft carb.
I am encouraged, though, that it is mounted on the carb.
I couldn't see anywhere else to mount it.
      Thanks,

The B21A throttle cable is about a mile long and comes around the front of the carb (on the master cylinder side) and then back to the spool which should be attached on the top of the intake manifold, towards the firewall from the carb. The spool then actuates a rod that works the throttle plate. Perhaps you're trying to use a cable that's far too short and actuate the spool from the wrong side?

          Got that right, Dale.
I have 2 cables, one better than the other, but both are the short one
that goes to the FI model.
It's kind of like when I built a balalaika, never having seen one.
It was triangular all right, but the back was flat and the sides were
straight. The first person (other than myself) who saw it almost
          collapsed in laughter.
I appreciate all the pix my friends have posted so I have now figured
out what it is supposed to look like. As this is a "get it running and
get it out of here" project, I am trying to get it to go with what I've
got. But if anyone has a long cable in fair to good condition at a
reasonable price I will be happy to consider buying it.
          Thanks,
