ABS Troubles?

I have a 1990 740gl (regina) and recently the ABS light will come on after I've been driving it for awhile, also since it has started coming on I've noticed that my speedometer will jerk back when I go over a bump and sometimes won't even work for awhile.

Is there away to fix my speedometer without replacing the ABS unit or do they work together somehow? I'm not sure if the ABS unit itself is bad or if there's a relay or something.

Thanks for any information

The ABS and the speedo both get their signal from the rear speed sensor at the differential cover. It is not uncommon for the wiring to break under its insulation within the first few inches of the axle, as it does most of the flexing when you travel over bumps.

You are almost certain to find the trouble under the car, not at the ABS or speedo.
