A tune-up cost you over $200? I bought name brand wires/plugs/cap and rotor at IPD for like $70...and IPD is never the cheapest. I bet eEuroParts would have the stuff for around $50.

A little painful but at least the problem is taken care of. A guy I work with got the news today on why is Son's 2006 Eclipse wouldn't shift correctly even though it only has 7600 miles on it. Son was slipping the clutch so badly that the pressure plate and flywheel were blue and full of heat cracks. Even though the car is under warranty, Mitsu refused to honor it as the clutch was abused... end result $2100 in parts and labor!

Consider yourself lucky!

Kinda makes you wonder if the Kid was really tough on the clutch or if something was not right with the Factory install and Mitsu found an out on the warranty.

If it was a Kid in his little Fast and Furious Mitsu... I bet the kid was running the snot out of it.

7600 miles. new clutch. I hope the kid is working that $2100 bill off around the house.

The "Kid" is 20 and has a job but still lives at home. Dad already told him that he would have to pay for it himself, in short, he is feeling the pain!

Must be a bad week for Mitsu Eclipses the week though, this morning I managed to grenade the head gasket on my over-boosted 2000 GS. Crank case full of coolant, #2 cylinder full of coolant (hydro-locked, found while trying a restart), and coolant pouring/spraying out the front side of the engine. Once again, I have proven that boost is addictive!

ps. I'll be handling the repair on this one myself this weekend.

Sorry Pageda, not my kid. I didn't think it appropriate to spread my genes in this day and age... but it sure is fun trying!

At that price it better have been all Bosch parts, except for the wires, which can be either Bosch or Bougicord.

They better be some Gucci wires coated in diamonds and 24k Gold! and the plug better be Abercrombie and Fitch!
