hydraulic lifters 700 1989

In need of assistance.i recently replaced the hydraulic lifters in my 89' 16 valve, along with the
timing belts ,seals and gaskets.i'm having a difficult time getting it started again.
I tried to fill the lifters with oil as best i could, don't know how successful that was,but obviously
something wasn't complete.any 16 valve lifter experts out there, please help!

Slightly off topic but worth the question:

Your car is an 89, so I think it has the plastic pulley on the balance shaft at the bottom - did you replace that wit the metal one? Also, did you replace the oil pump pulley bolt? and of course both belts, not just the main timing?

...weaknesses that you must do if you want to keep that car.

Never did lifters in my 16v, sorry.

If everything is set up correctly it should be just a matter of cranking the piss out of it until it starts.
