My 93 240 has a dryer on the a/c system. I am trying to buy a 89 240 for my son and i noticed the a/c hose runs directly into the interior of the car. It does not go to a dryer like mine does. What is the function of the dryer and why does the 89 not have one? thanks

The dryer takes inevitable moisture out of the mix. Yours is located near the radiator on the passenger side.
