best suspension upgrades for a V8 940..... 900

A mechanic friend of mine has a buddy coming through town that just bought an early model 940/60? that has a v-8 conversion.

Apparently it's not handling the best, and he wants to upgrade it while he's in town.

I believe it's a stock front end, which is tough to believe, I thought that a susp. upgrade was totally neccessary when sticking a big heavy 5.0 liter in, but we'll go with that presumption.

What are the options for a front end on these cars??

Thanks very much,

Josh in Saskatchewan.

That small block Ford is not much heavier than the L-6 in the 960 or the D24T used years ago. Less than 75 kgs difference. That's one reason it is such a sweet combo. Any effective upgrades available for the stock 700/900 car, such as thicker sway bars F&R, performance valved shocks / struts, H or higher rated tires, should all be considered.

The one thing I can think of particular to the conversion would be moving the battery off the front and to the rear.

Only thing I would add to the above is the IPD strut rod poly bushing kit.
