Cleaned out OIL Box and Flame Trap ..HELP.

I cleaned out the oil box and flame trap and hose now car idles @2K @@ i had to turn idle screw all the way in just to get it above a 1k @@. The box and the flame trab wasnt that bad but the hose was completley clogged i couldnt even blow through it so i cleaned it all out and the result is a 2k idle and i did check all vaccume hoses to see if i pulled one off and none to be found loose or off. almost done with this vovlo to put her back on the street please help ...

    Try pulling off the flame trap vacuum hose again and just blocking it. Does the idle change? If not, the trouble is not there.

    I agree you're looking for a vacuum leak. Sounds like a big one. Did you have the intake manifold off the car for this work? Did you install a new gasket?

    How about the hose to the brake booster? That can be a major source of vacuum leaks if it's split or not seated.

    Cleaned out OIL Box and Flame Trap ..HELP.

    I too cleaned the side oil breather box on my 760, but eventually just bought a new one. I apparently was not getting the old one as clean as it needed to be, as crankcase ventilation has greatly improved with the new box.

    That said, I would clean the throttle body and make sure on vac hoses. Also your idle control valve can need cleaning - replacing.

    Most every thing I read here on the board says that problems like yours are rarely electrical component related - and almost always a cleaning issue along with making sure vacumn lines are right.
