check valve 900 1996

where would the check valve be located on a 96 960 volvo? i'm loosing vent air every time i accelerate and the first thing they say to check is that valve. thanks

    Under the hood on the firewall passenger side near the top. There are some vacuum lines routed along the firewall at the top, behind the A/C cannister. There are two little plastic valves plugged into the vacuum lines. The valves are black and white. They just slide out of the vacuum lines, and you can blow to see if air goes only one way to test.

      check valve 900 1996

      There is a vacuum motor located in the car at the drivers feet that has two lines running to it. That is the one that goes first in most cases. Job to replace-mine has been working well on one line for a few years now-just plugged the line that was sucking air and left as is.
      The faqs say this is a day job-don't need the agrivation.
