1990 gle b280 injectors 700 1990

have a bit of a problem with the injectors on my b280 v6.
flooding from leaking injectors overnight, has now got to the point of me doing something about it.
Question is if the injectors are leaking this badly, is it a waste of time having them cleaned ultrasonically, better just to get either a new set or get hold of some used injectors and have them cleaned.
A mechanic friend of mine commented, that if the fuel filter wasnt changed reguarly, it would wreck the injectors due to dirt being passed from a clogged filter.I got the car at 127k and the filter certainly hadnt being changed prior to me doing it.

Sounds like time for a new filter and injectors. Not that what you describe is not possible but I have had so few LH fuel injectors leak down over the years that I am hard pressed to recall even a single case. I would pull the fuel rail after you shut it off, make sure that they are dry and then lay them on a paper towel or something overnight to make sure that it is the injectors. You know they can't be cheap, especially if you are contemplating all 6 of them.
