Your oil control rings are more than likely stuck. Synthetic may clean it out but I doubt it. You need to change the oil more often. Auto RX won't get on to the stuck part of the rings so that won't help either. You might try the Berkable engine and fuel cleaner and remove the plugs and pour about a 3 OZ in each hole. Make sure none of the pistons are at top dead center. It would also help if you jacked the right side of the car up so that an equal amout gets all around the pistons. It will take time for the cleaner to work itself in and loosen the sludge and shelac, rock the crank shaft just a little bit in each direction about once an hour to work the rings loose. After about 8 hours crank it up and watch the smoke fly, change the oil when it is warm and renew filter. Add seven quarts of fresh oil and add a pint of the berkable engine and fuel treatment DO NOT REV MOTOR WHILE THIS STUFF IS IN THE OIL, NO JACK RABBIT STARTS AND FLOORBOARDING TO PASS ANYONE. Leave in the crankcase for 150 miles and change oil and filter again. Drive for another 500 hundred miles and change the oil again. After that interval then check your oil consumption. Switching to synthetic will help more now that you have wrinced out the engine with clean oil. I have had this work on some pretty rough and abused engines with good success, I also blew one up! Less is better than more, follow the cans recomendations. Good luck. The aluminum engines seem to respond better to this than the b230, I would never try this on a turbo engine for fear of damage to the turbo.
