where can I get oil drain plug washers? 200

Does Pepboys or Autozone offer the right size and metal washers for Volvo 240 drain plugs? Or are these very specific washers and can only be bought at a Volvo place? Do washers go by size #?

I think when you say "metal" you specifically want copper, a soft metal that forms under pressure when you snug the drain plug. So be certain it is copper.
Some forum contributors will whince, but I turn my washer over each time and get quite a few oil changes out of one washer, and change to a new one about once a year.

On my 1990 240 that I bought new I used the same washer for around 10 years. Probably over 50 oil changes. That was before I know about fcp and eeuro that sell them for .50.

Yeah, I change mine about every 10 years when the mood strikes me.

I did have luck at one (not all) of the Pep Boys locations near me one time when I was in a bind. All Volvo dealers stock 'em as well - and they will know exactly what your looking for when you go to the parts counter. My advice, though, would be to go to www.fcpgroton.com and order a supply in bulk.

Good luck!

Greg
