1993 volvo 960 900

hi i got a ? i got a 1993 960 wagon auto how can i by pass the ac compressor. my ac compressor the barings are shot i wanted to by pass it and put on another belt what size belt i need? or is thear another way to do. this i got to drive the car like 90 miles to get it home

    Here it is! 900

    I knew I had a picture of a 960 engine without AC. This is a 2.5 litre engine from the UK which came witout AC. Check out the serpentine belt.

    1993 volvo 960 900

    Remove the serpentine belt and use a piece of wire or sting around all the pulleys to measure the length of a belt that would bypass the AC compressor. Go to any auto parts store and ask for that specific length in the same design as your original serpentine belt. It should be very simple. The part number of each belt includes the length of the belt in inches. I did the same thing with the V belts for my 240 when I bipassed the AC on that car.

      You will also need to know how wide the belt is as well as the new length, or you can just bring the old belt in, or have them look it up in their books.

      Volvo sold some 960s and 850s in europe without AC. Maybe you can find a part number for that belt.

        thanks for the info 1 more thing thears a pully that the belt goes from the inside then to the ac now do i measure useing that pully? do i by pass it or do i go from the out side?
