Floating Clear... 120-130 1967

Hello All:

1967 Volvo 122S Wagon. I want to check the float clearance. I have twin Skinner Union HS-6 carburetors and I know that if I remove the top of the float bowl I should put itupside down and check the clearance from the float bowl tab to the lid. It seems the possibilities are 1/8", 1/4" or 3/8" depending on the model. I know the HS-4 clearance is 1/8". Does anyone know the clearance for the HS-6?

Cheers,

Jeff Pucillo

If the needle is spring loaded, don't depress the spring when setting. As George mentions, it is 3/16 max, 1/8 inch min. That's with a steel arm plastic float. The all plastic float is not adjustable itself, but the clearance should be in the 1/8 range. If not, washers are added under the seat.

I set mine at 3/16" and they seem to work fine.
