I have to repaint a door and want to take off the trim along the window, the one with the wiper on it. How do I remove it ?

    I'm not sure what you mean by a wiper, but if you mean the door window trims, my 1990 740's comes off very easily. I changed my door glass after replacing my door and found out how to do it. There are no latches, just the pressure of the molding squeezing the side.
    Work your fingers under the trim, or find some way to get a grip. Metal is a bad thing. Firmly, but gently pull up on the trim, a little (less than a third of the distance) at a time from one end to the other. like: ________ to ------- to ******* only in thirds.

    DO NOT pull any part off without having the rest almost off. You will bend this and bending it back is almost impossible. When you reinstall the trim, you will have to work to get it back down and be sure the rubber skirt is not getting caught in the molding. This is not that hard, feel free to Email with ?'s

    That piece of trim is held on by clips to the door. It should be able to be gently pried/lifted straight up and the clips will release. Just take your time.
