So, the picture above is Carlos using an impact wrench to "seat" the new studs--or pull them through both the disc and hub--notice we used a few bolts and washers under the lug nuts? But let me back up one step: first, we had to get the holes in the PV 444 hub (previously drum) the same size (Exactly) as the holes in the 1800 disc brakes. The hubs were slightly undersized. So to do this, we used an adjustable reamer, shown in the L in this photo below. Finding studs that fit was tricky. I probably could have just ordered some from Olof or Swedish Treasures ($6.25 EACH) but I wasn't exactly sure they'd fit, as I am using my PV hubs (not 1800 hubs) with Scandix 1800 discs (earlier type). So we measured and searched until we found some Doorman p/n 310-032 1" protruding wheel studs that worked, for only $2.89 each. What a bargain. At this point I should probably add up all the costs to make my PV hubs work with these new disc brakes, but I'm afraid it might run over the ~$200/side Olof is charging for discs with hubs. Oh vell, it was fun anyway.

I should probably add a pic of my new calipers with the (finally got a lucky break) crossover line I found at Checker today! Wohoo Only $2.99 each--for the English threaded type. Sometimes you do get lucky at the auto parts store.
