Update on my last post: The car was becoming difficult to turn and lately its been creeking and getting even harder to turn. I have isolated the creeking sound to somewhere around where the steering column comes out of the firewall. I suspect the ball bearing at the top of the steering column is busted. Swedish Treasures does not have the part but could order it, this would normally be okay, but I can't keep the car in the shop for more than another day. Does anyone know where I can get this part and have it by tomorrow? Or is there possibly an replacement part I might find at NAPA or something not specific to Volvo?

Okay... I figured it out. I disconnected the right tie rod, turned the wheel and there was no creeking. I looked at all my tie rods and the tie rod ends of the center tie rod were completely loose. They must have been causing the friction making it hard to turn and the sound travelled up the steering column. New tie rod ends are en route and they are a hell of a lot easier to find.
