Mysterious warning light not found in owner's manual or FAQ.

What is the orange warning light is that is under the trip odometer reset? It is circle in parantheses (O) but inside the circle is what looks like a bowtie, or a mini axle with wheels, with 4 small dotted lines underneath?
It came on before my battery died tonight. I thought the battery light would have come on, but it didn't. Just this mystery orange one. Shortly after the gas was cutting out like it was running out of gas from time to time. I had to buy a new battery but wasn't able to test the old one. The strange orange light didn't come on again after that. HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'ALL!

The light right under the trip reset on my '89 760 is the ABS light. Can you take a photo?

It must be the ABS. Now the little picture in the middle makes sense.
Thanks. I guess it lit up when the battery was dying becuase there wasn't enough juice to power it or something like that.
      Cheers!

Yes, Canadian market Volvos with the 'new look' instrument clusters got the symbols starting in the 1990 model year, US cars got everything spelled out (ANTI-LOCK, BRAKE, PARKING BRAKE).

If your car has ABS, this light should come on before you start the car.

It's winter here alright and my front tires are pretty worn out. I definitely enjoy the ABS helping me stop, that's for sure. Thanks for letting me know I got the cool new look for warning lights. I looked in the owner's manual again and I did notice that it says ANTI-LOCK. I guess I was looking to match the same Swedish cryptic symbol.
          Cheers,
          Lindy.
