Starting/stalling problems - a solution that easy? 200

I have been having on-and-off problems with irregular starting problems and stalling after 5-10 minutes of operation. Garage played with it, I played with it, no joy, and recently it was getting worse. Finally, a couple of weeks ago I jiggled the connector into the ignition module, and no trouble since. I suppose if the garage had replaced the chip at great cost it would have solved the problem too ...

You might want to consider replacing that ignition module-- when mine was in the early stages wiggling the connector fixed a stall condition. Soon after it would stall if I held my hand very close, but not touching. Right after that it failed outright.

I picked a bunch up at the boneyard-- any LH 2.4 car will do-- also in SAABs from around that vintage (although the heat sink is a different shape).

Good luck!

Nice catch, George. I went through the same kind of thing a while back, after considering all of the high tech possibilities, a cap and rotor solved the problem.
